First inspection

  • Power down. Remove the battery only if safe; do not recharge an impact-damaged pack.
  • Check propellers, motor mounts, arms, hinges, shell joints and battery retention for damage.
  • Inspect the camera and gimbal for obstruction, displaced mounts or damaged cables without forcing movement.
  • Inspect the forward sensor/LiDAR area for damage or obstruction. A clean outer surface does not rule out internal damage.
  • Do not launch simply to find out whether it still flies.

Follow the symptom

Tilted horizon or gimbal error

Document the warning and visible damage. Calibration cannot repair a bent mount, torn cable or damaged assembly.

Vibration or unusual motor sound

Check the propellers and mounting points. Replacing blades alone does not clear a damaged motor or arm for flight.

Sensor or LiDAR warning

Treat a persistent warning after impact as a reason for assessment, even if the aircraft powers on.

Choose the repair level

Replacing a correctly matched, removable propeller is a different task from opening the aircraft. Gimbal/camera, motor, arm and shell work may require specialist tools, calibration and a full post-repair inspection.

Before ordering a repair part

  • Require an explicit DJI Air 3S model or part-number match.
  • Ask which calibration and functional checks are needed after installation.
  • Do not classify an unverified swap as compatible or incompatible: keep it unconfirmed until evidence resolves it.
